Take Shelter

Take Shelter
is not what you think it’s about.

This is a story about faith and trust.

What are you going to do with what you see?  How far are you willing to go with and for the people you love?  How do you know what to believe and how do you evaluate what’s too much in acting on it?

This is a story that should make you think about Noah.  It should make you think about not just what you see or hear, but what you’re ultimately going to do with it.  It’s a story that should make you think about vision and calling and action.  And about outside perception versus inner conviction.

This film is intentional in slowly (very slowly) building to something incredibly piercing.  And it is beautifully acted, starring Jessica Chastain (from Tree of Life) and Michael Shannon (from Revolutionary Road).

You will continue to think about this film long after you leave the theater.  And that makes a film worth all $8.50 you pay to experience it.
