I wish that starting right now I could pause time for 36 hours and just read. I haven’t felt such a strong desire to read in a long time. Here are the books on my list (in the order I plan to read them):
Let Your Life Speak by Parker J. Palmer – Recommended by my good friends Gail & Phil Ebersole.
Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy – The current classic I’m reading on my iPad.
The Diary of a Country Priest by Georges Bernanos – A “wonder-full” book recommended on rednow.com.
The Weight of Glory by CS Lewis – No explanation necessary, Lewis is the man! And I’ve been halfway through this book all summer.
A Room of One’s Own by Virginia Woolf – A healthy dose of feminism never hurt anyone, right?
Mere Christianity by CS Lewis – Again he’s the man. And I’m wanting to re-read some of his books before I take a class on him in January.
What Now? by Ann Patchett – A gift from Phil, figure I should read at least one of the many books my dad has gifted me over the years. This one seems fitting for my current life circumstances.
If you could pause time for the next 36 hours for the sole purpose of reading, what books would make your list?
