A Question.

For the last two years, every Monday morning at 7:30AM a group of about 6 girlfriends and I occupy the largest table at Peet’s Coffee in Evanston.  It’s not a very big table, nor is it a very big coffee shop, so we most often end up collecting every unoccupied chair in the place.  Each week we order our coffee, chat for a bit, and then answer just a single question.  Then sometime between 8:30 and 9AM we go our individual ways – to work, to class, back home.  It’s so simple.  So basic.  So sustainable.

What I’ve learned is this: A good question has the power to change and move an individual, a relationship, a day, and maybe even an entire life.

I should have started this a long time ago, but from now on I plan to post the question of the week every Monday morning.  Think about it for yourself.  Use it with a group of friends.  Journal about it.  Do something with it and I think you’ll be surprised by the result (that’s certainly been the case for my friends and me!).

Today’s question is…

What do you know about hope?  What do you hope for?

  1. I love that you and your girlfriends get together to do this! And I miss you!
