Making Up Words

If I had to describe the story we are living (on cosmic, personal, and community scales) it would be this:

OTHER-NESS becomes US-NESS so we can live a new and radical kind of ONE-ANOTHER-NESS.

When words fail to capture the mystery of reality, I think it’s sometimes necessary to make up new ones; to create words that defy our definitions and assumptions. But these new words need unpacking and contextualizing in order to engage our imaginations and connect us to reality. Over the next week, I’m going to attempt to make otherness, us-ness, and one-another-ness mean something.

Until then, enjoy thinking about made-up words, reality, and unpacking. Happy Weekend!
